Landing at Tokyo airport felt surreal. All the kanji, ordered busyness, trying to buy a train ticket. The latter got me in trouble, accidentally jumping a queue of disgruntled commuters. Oops. Eventually I got to the Shinkansen for the ride of my life.
The bullet train to downtown Tokyo reaches up to 199mph. It’s exhilarating. Whoosh, we’re there! Sadly it means no time to get to know your fellow passengers.
