I’m colour blind. So are my brothers. At school, a teacher found out. In her next class, she used me to demonstrate “this complaint”. Rest of that day, kids pushed me to name the colour of everything in sight. I felt mocked, belittled and upset.
“Can’t be killed over enemy territory though,” said my brothers later. Turns out fighter pilots need perfect colour vision to read their displays. I instantly felt better.
