Forest fires have been ravaging Europe. On the news, I watched as a deer tried to escape the flames. I wanted to reach into my TV and save the helpless creature. To humans, these fires are terribly worrying. But what must animals be feeling?
The deer. Blackbirds and wrens and rooks and robins. Squirrels. All the creatures, great and small. Put yourself in their shoes. Such tragedy for so many.
